SIETAR Europa Virtual Institute 2021
Anti-racism, Inclusion, and Intersectionality: From cutting-edge research to best practice
Since 2020 the world has come together not only to face the COVID-19 pandemic, but to also rise up against the global pandemic of racism and call for racial justice. After the police killing of George Floyd, protests erupted across the United States and cities across the world. It was the beginning of a global movement in solidarity with people in the US, and with people around the world who experience racism. SIETAR Europa has been committed to educating ourselves and our members on anti-racism, and its intersectionality with the intercultural field, and you are invited to join us on our continued global dialogue on racism, inclusion and intersectionality in our first ever Virtual Institute.
The Virtual Institute will explore this theme through the lens of our core pillars, education, training and research.
There is widespread agreement that anti-racism, inclusion and intersectionality are in high demand in the field of corporate training. During the Institute, participants will delve into the latest research in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training and explore how to implement innovative and effective training strategies in today’s rapidly changing corporate world.
The Institute offers three Master Classes featuring educators, researchers, and training practitioners who are on the cutting edge of research and best practices in their fields. Each Master Class will include three sessions for participants to learn with their peers and guest experts and integrate their learning into their work.
- Session 1-Research: In this session, guest experts will share their research and its implications.
- Session 2-Practice: In this session, guest experts will share best practices.
- Session 3-Future Implications: In this session, this Master Class cohort will work with a facilitator to discuss and consider the future implications of their learning.

For most SIETARians, networking and the opportunity to meet new and old friends, have a 1:1 conversation with interesting and potential collaborators – at a professional or personal level – ranks high as a motivator for attending our in-person congresses. We have partnered with the SIETAR Europa Special Interest Groups and a special cooperation partner, the #virtualspacehero who will host our Opening and Closing networking events for you! They will take place right after the Virtual Institute kick-off and keynote and after the Virtual Institute closure.
During the Virtual Institute, the Africa and Gamification Special Interest Groups (SIGs) will host events that feature the work, and engage participants in a variety of games, activities, and dialogues. The SIG networking events will be OPEN TO ALL SIG MEMBERS.
We are aware that virtual networking is not the same as in-presence getting to know each other better, but we will certainly do our best to exceed your expectations and convert you all to become virtual enthusiasts.
